Noble encounter power – Cloaked Escape
The noble martial controller class has a level 7 encounter exploit called the “Cloaked Escape”. The flavour text is:
With a flourish, you unfurl your cloak upon your enemy whilst striking them at the same time, blinding them temporarily.
It’s a close blast 3, and you get to shift 1 square after the attack. If you are a Rakish Noble, you get to shift a number of squares equal to your Dexterity modifier. The target takes some damage and is blinded until the end of your next turn.
The Rakish Noble is one of 2 available builds. The other build is the Scheming Noble. And I’ll talk about the 2 builds in another article.
Like the Venomous Blossom encounter power, I also thought up an action sequence for Cloaked Escape.
You face the enemy, standing with your right leg in front and left leg behind. Then you reach with your right arm over the left shoulder to grab your cloak. Then you flick it towards the enemy while spinning it.
Swivelling your body clockwise, pivoting on your right foot, you have your back towards the enemy, left foot nearer the enemy at this point. Balancing on that left foot, you stretch your right leg to kick the living daylights out of the enemy. Bouncing off the enemy, you use the momentum to scurry away, leaving a blinded and sorely wounded enemy.
It might be hard to imagine, so let me draw you the action sequence:

I don’t think my friend visualised the attack that way when he designed Cloaked Escape… *smile*
