Noble class, a martial controller
My friend is tinkering with a new D&D class called the Noble. The Arcane, Divine, and Primal power sources all have the standard 4 types of class builds: Defender, Striker, Leader and Controller. Only the Martial power source is missing a controller class.
Now, to be fair, a controller basically makes combat more difficult for the enemies and messes around with the battlefield terrain. This usually means supernatural forces at work. The Martial power source is distinctly not supernatural.
Anyway, I was playtesting the Noble class for him. And this was our first encounter:

Here’s a close up of the Noble miniature, kindly provided by another friend:

The guy with the flag is Sir Berit, and a changeling. The one closest to the foreground is noble defender Stiglitz (I just watched “Inglourious Basterds”…), double-bladed attacker Ulrick (on the other side of Berit) and archers Chaser and Quiver.
The back-story I prepared was that a noble, his wife and in particular the son were good friends with a changeling. They meet up secretly during forest walks.
One day, there was a tragic hunting accident, and the son was killed. The noble, though distraught, beseeched the changeling to take his son’s form. For without an heir to the house, the noble’s enemies will swiftly launch political attacks and bring down all that the noble had worked for.
The changeling grudgingly agreed, and thus Sir Berit was back.
I would have taken more pictures, but my mind was completely processing the game rules of the Noble class that, I uh, forgot to take pictures…
So the basic concept of the Noble, is that he (or she, but I’ll just use “he” for convenience sake) directs minions to do most of the enemy disruption work. I’ll write more information once I gather them.

I play D&D semi-regularly. I like magic users (thus mostly falling into controller roles). I tell funny adventure stories.
